sengoku collection
I'll be honest. I watched this almost at random, because it had boobs. That's the nearest it has to a raison d'etre. Lots of famous historical characters have been reimagined as SCHOOLGIRLS!!! Who all have BIG BOOBS, except for the very young ones (for those who prefer such characters).
...and that's it, really. It's based on a 2010 mobile networking game. There's an easily-overlooked running plot about Nobunaga's quest to look for treasures or something. Basically, though, it's an anthology of disconnected episodes, each apparently based on some movie or other. These apparently include: Roman Holiday, A Star Is Born, Wings of Desire, Female Prisoner #701 Scorpion, Bowling for Columbine, Back to the Future, Baghdad Cafe, Alice in Wonderland, Volcano High, The Sting, Knight Rider, The Day of the Jackal, Yappari Neko Ga Suki, Hell House, Sleuth, Lady Hawke, Dancer in the Dark, Inugami-keNoIchizoku, Amadeus, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Zero Focus, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Diva, Tsurikichi Sanpei, Maboroshi No Mizuumi.
The girls are usually from the Sengoku period (15th and 16th century, c.f. the title), but not always. There's also Liu Bei, for instance, from China's Three Kingdoms period in the 3rd century AD. As for the stories themselves, they'll go anywhere and do anything. They include serious crime/prison dramas, murder mystery, SF, dream fantasy, idol anime and various random silly adventures. There's a power struggle among the four-year-olds in a day care centre. (The winner triumphs with a clever use of mandatory nap time.)
Boobs were obviously intended as a major selling point, but the girls don't get naked. (Except in the sketches at the halfway advert breaks.) Masamune's outfit is ridiculous, though.
Is this worth your time? Not really. If you're curious, 2001: A Space Odyssey is ep.20 and Alice in Wonderland is ep.8... but neither of those is worth hunting down. The show's on Crunchyroll, though. The episodes are usually okay and sometimes they're even quite nice, but the show's ultimately bollocks. I don't care about Sengoku warlords, not even when gender-flipped. There's no significant story arc. No overall direction. It's a silly anthology series that never really grabbed me.
