- One-line summary: tutor harem comedy
It's the same premise as We Never Learn, which had four enjoyable episodes before degenerating into harem nonsense. Ah well. I'll make the same mistake twice.
Uesugi is a skinflint with bad manners. He can't apologise or say "thank you". Even his little sister calls him a crappy self-obsessed lowlife... and she's defending him. However, he works hard at school and scores 100 on his tests. One day, he's shitty to a girl in the school dining hall, then learns that he's got a part-time job as a private tutor!
Guess who his student is. Furthermore, she's one of five quintuplets and he'll be tutoring them all.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed the episode. They're successfully walking a fine line with Uesugi. He's abrasive enough to be a distinctive protagonist, but also serious and sensible enough to be sort of likeable anyway. He cares about work, in large part because of his home circumstances. Also, the girls give him a hard time. This looks fun.
