It's a film: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion, which isn't very good, although I like the series as a whole
It's a fourteen-minute OVA: It's My Life -- Astra Ludger Doomsday, former captain of the royal knights has finally achieved his dearest wish: To retire and use his savings to get his very own house. But not long after finally arriving at his sanctuary, a young girl crash-lands into his house.
It's a series of three-minute comedy bonus episodes from the boys' half of the franchise: The iDOLM@STER SideM: Wake Atte Mini! OVA
It's a three-minute promotion for the Toshima region: Ikebukuro PR Anime
It's a series of seven-second web commercials for an online jobsearch service: Ichiman

One-line summary: throwaway semi-comedy shorts
It's a light-hearted spin-off of THE iDOLM@STER. There's little point in watching it, to be honest, but you can enjoy their closing credits theme songs. There are lots and lots of those and they're usually fun. "Theater" ep.40 doesn't have one, shockingly, but I skipped forward and reassuringly ep.41 does. "Web" ep.34 does too.
There's nothing wrong with these mini-episodes, but they'd mean more if you were also watching the parent series. Maybe I'll rewatch it one day. (This calls itself the "Climax Season", incidentally, but they made more the following year.)

One-line summary: a fantasy adventurer and a five-year-old
EPISODE ONE
Dale is an adventurer, killing smelly toad monsters because no one else wanted to.
Latina is a devil girl, probably four or five years old. She's in the woods on her own. She'd been with her father until he told her to run away from the animals that would soon be coming to eat his corpse.
Dale sees no option but to take Latina with him. There's a language problem, but they can communicate since the devil language shares words with magical spellcasting. (What's more, the show's consistent about its fake language. "Emoku" is used more than once for "come", for instance. Based on backwards English, perhaps?)
This fantasy world has used magic to create pseudo-technology like baths, hot water taps and even an online messaging system. It's about Dale learning how to be a dad, basically. His occupation isn't ill-suited to it, but we know he won't follow through on that talk of an orphanage. He buys clothes and gets woken up in the night to escort Latina to the toilet. The episode's nice.
EPISODE TWO
I've changed my mind.
There's something unhealthy about this show. It's got an otaku stench. The way Dale talks and acts... it's not dad-like, but more like little girl worship.
It's not sleazy, but it gave me the creeps.

One-line summary: infamous fanservice fighting show
I've seen an episode or two of Ikki Tousen, which is too ludicrous to bear thinking about. It's about schoolgirls who are also the 1800-year-old reincarnations of legendary warriors from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In practice, this means fighting, panty shots, fighting, boobs, schoolgirl lesbians and endless underwear.
This particular episode's quite good, but it's making no allowance for newbies. It reunites lots and lots of characters to discuss stuff from the previous 52 episodes. They take their world seriously and get intense about their goals and problems. If I'd been watching from the beginning, I'm sure I'd have enjoyed this.
There's mega-boob nudity that doesn't rely on the franchise's trademark "exploding clothes" sword fights, but instead visits a hot spring. There's also a hands-on strip match. Is this softcore porn or an actual story? Uh, both.
There's also fighting. This is, after all, a fighting show.
Is it worth watching? Of course not. It's nothing special, beyond the magnificently shameless fanservice. However, it's far better than you'd expect from a twenty-year franchise that's still dragging things out. It looked okay.

One-line summary: insane soccer anime
It's every kind of crazy, set on fire in an hot-blooded inferno of shounen awesome. Your brain would explode if you watched more than one episode. It's a sports anime with the following:
(a) an evil soccer team who dazzle their opponents with shiny things on their boots and commit blatant violent fouls. Where's the referee?
(b) players who can leap forty feet into the air on a rocket blast of fire, then send a cannonball-like death football into the enemy net. Their superpowers have names like Red Hot Chilli Meteor. They can also summon demons and djinn.
(c) a goalkeeper who similarly leaps fifty feet into the air to catch a ball. Wouldn't it have gone harmlessly over the net, then?
(d) In a show with otherwise realistic art, one player blatantly isn't human. He's like a truck with a face.
(e) passionate shounen melodrama, e.g. "Ichihoshi, let's play soccer with all our hearts! No matter what you've been through, soccer will guide your way!" "If he receives any impact on the head right now, he may never be able to play soccer again."
It's amazing. But don't watch it.

One-line summary: yet another cut-and-paste wish-fulfilment isekai
A schoolboy goes a fantasy world, gets mega-powers and is surrounded by hot girls! What makes this show different from the isekai anime pack, then? Answer: he's brought a friend. Taichi's arrived with his childhood playmate, Rin. It's nice to have her, actually, since she gives the "Doesn't Have To Try Hard At Anything" protagonist someone to talk to.
Otherwise, though, it's a thin opening episode. Our heroes get no meaningful drama, unless you count a botched attempt at self-sacrifice. (A monster appears and Taichi immediately throws himself at it, telling Rin to save herself. It's a hilariously bad attempt from the script to make Taichi look heroic. Plenty of more sensible options were available, e.g. running, hiding, fighting or indeed any intelligent action at all. The monster hadn't even attacked yet.)
Rin tells him off for it afterwards, though.
The episode opens with "look how cool I am" teens knocking down soldiers on the battlefield as if they were skittles. "It's so easy it feels like a cheat," thinks Taichi. Well, yes. The episode isn't without self-awareness, e.g. Taichi and Rin realising that they shouldn't be able to read and speak the local language. It's still basically a cliche storm, though. They meet a hot girl with big boobs wearing almost nothing and there's a scene where the Adventurer's Guild tries to measure Taichi's magic levels and he's so powerful that he breaks their crystal ball.
The episode's not quite as horrible as I've made it sound, but it's not even trying to escape the cliches. I quite liked Rin and Taichi, but that's it. Definitely dropping this one.

One-line summary: the casts of four isekai series in a crossover comedy
I've since finished it and... it's awesome, but it'll work better if you've seen its four parent series.
OVERLORD - Lord Ains Own Goal (as I keep misreading his name) and his demonic monster minions are evil and want to conquer the world, but they're also polite, intelligent and hyper-competent. If you're a goodie, you'll probably think he's on your side. If you're a baddie, kiss your arse goodbye.
THE SAGA OF TANYA THE EVIL - A little girl in a fantasy version of World War One that has magic and witches. She's even more evil than Ains Own Goal. She's terrifying and has an endless supply of gloating, sadistic facial expressions.
KONOSUBA - the funniest fantasy comedy in anime, in my opinion. Aqua is a goddess, but legendarily stupid. Darkness is a knight whose goal in combat is to get beaten up because she's a masochist.
RE:ZERO - no idea what this lot are doing here, except that the show was hugely successful. It's the opposite of a comedy. Re:Zero was a serious and often traumatic show (for the audience) that broke its hero psychologically. Well, let's see what they get up to.
I love the theme song. The Konosuba and Tanya the Evil regulars immediately made me laugh. (I want another season of Konosuba.) The Overlord and Re:Zero characters are currently more in a straight man role, although Albedo wants to kill everyone, but that works too. I'm looking forward to this!

One-line summary: amusing RPG fantasy
I've since finished it and... it's good and a significant step up from Season 1. Season 3 is then incredible.
EPISODE ZERO
It's just a recap of Season 1, narrated by Hestia and Bell. Their banter is amusing, but the episode's still a clip show.
EPISODE ONE
Bell Cranel's becoming well known. He's still only a Level 2 adventurer, but he's done remarkable things in his dungeon-bashing. Alas, though, not everyone likes this. Bell's party gets into a bar fight with the Apollo familia while defending their goddess's honour, then the gods hold a banquet, with each deity allowed to bring one mortal from their familia. Hestia only has one worshipper (Bell), so she brings him. This is actually new for DanMachi, taking us into high society, dancing and ballgowns.
There's a twist at the end, thanks to Apollo the scuzzbucket. I enjoyed the episode. It's on a par with Season 1, instead of being at the disappointing levels of the 2016 OVA and the 2019 movie. Happy to continue.

One-line summary: gore schlock with an unlikeable idiot cast
If you've seen the 2020 film, this OVA is its middle section. It doesn't have a proper beginning or ending, but merely starts and stops. The first thing we see is teenagers stuck on an island and arguing about giant butterflies. Two corpses are lying at their feet. Our heroes include:
(a) Mutsumi, a nice schoolgirl and an insect expert. With her, our heroes have a (slim) chance of survival. They should be prostrating themselves at their feet and giving praise to the scriptwriter.
(b) a bitch who sneers at Mutsumi for knowing things. "You really are creepy, bug-woman."
(c) an offensive dick who appoints himself leader and immediately orders the others not to rescue their kidnapped friends. For example, he doesn't care about a girl who's been captured by a wasp that injects its larvae into your living body. When his friend gets kidnapped, though, he'll put everyone in the danger he'd just been ordering everyone to avoid. "Times like these call for a strong leader. A boss man."
Everyone immediately accepts Offensive Dick as their leader, because he said so.
In fairness, insects do unspeakably horrible things to each other and I like the idea of turning that into survival horror. The scientific justifications are clever. As drama with characters, though, it's terrible. Everyone except Mutsumi deserves to die. There's huge-boobed nudity, but it's gruesomely anti-sexy. The CGI insects clash with the indifferent hand-drawn animation. The only reason to watch this would be "so bad it's good".

One-line summary: tame but unpleasant ecchi
This ugly not-actually-porn throwaway has achieved a second season. Unbelievable.
Season 1, ep.1: you own an English country house and you make one of your maids show you her underwear. She used to admire you and now she thinks you're scum.
Season 2, ep.1: the same protagonist finds a new way to disgust that maid.
