Omiai Aite wa Oshiego Tsuyoki na Mondaiji
I've just found out that this show has a TV version and an, ahem, "complete" version. I'd guess I watched the latter.
In short, it's hentai. Every episode has a sex scene, usually with nipple-sucking and some kind of penetration (sometimes only a finger, sometimes not). It has the digital mosaic censorship that's normal on Japanese hardcore porn.
That said, I also quite liked it. It's not creepy, misogynist, rapey, bigoted, offensive or flattening the female protagonist into a one-dimensional wank fantasy. Kuga has a bit of a jealousy/possessiveness issue, but not to an unnatural or problematic extent. There are one or two places where the jump into sex might seem a bit implausible, but that might be inevitable with this genre and these short-form episodes.
In short, this is a perfectly good romance story that happens to have sexual content.
Our heroine is Nano, a high school teacher who's never had a boyfriend. One day she lets a family friend talk her into an omiai (arranged meeting for the sake of checking out a potential husband). It goes quite well. Goodness me, she moves fast for a modest girl who's never had a boyfriend. However everything gets complicated when the chap removes his glasses and she realises he's Kuga, one of her high school students.
I think possibly the best compliment I can pay this show is that you'd be happy to show it to an audience of either gender. (Well, assuming they were happy with anime sex scenes.) Nano takes the situation pretty seriously and this does indeed feel like her story. She's not just a reflection of the male character's ego. She keeps her professional perspective, for instance, so she'll be having a go at Kuga's grades and thinking about his decision not to go to university. She also pushes him into participating in the school's culture festival, which he hadn't wanted to do. She definitely has a problem with the teacher-student thing and their age gap, being worryingly quick to step aside if she thinks she might have a rival of a more appropriate age. (Kuga also has a version of that hang-up, though.) Nano has an emotional journey, being reluctant at first and then gradually working out how she feels about Kuga... but then, after that, she still has the problem of how and when to tell him.
It's also clearly a story about two characters, not just an excuse for sex scenes. When Kagu gets sick with a cold through overworking, she comes around to look after him... and nothing happens. They kiss. He's ill. There's also humour. Every so often, the show would make me laugh at a reaction or a line of dialogue as one teased the other.
There's room for a consent discussion, but personally I think the show's on the right side of it. Nano's flustered and not too happy about what's happening in the early episodes, but she's also not making the slightest attempt to slow Kagu down. She's not saying "no" or breaking off with him, despite having that option available and thinking about the fact that she hasn't done so. She'll protest that he shouldn't get her boobs out at school, but not actually stop him from getting them out. (They're not being exhibitionist. It's in a classroom with no one else around.) What's more, it'll be Kuga who stops halfway through when she's unhappy, while he carefully gets explicit verbal consent before they eventually have full sex.
I found Nano and Kuga a bit exasperating around ep.10-11. Relax, you two. Don't be so silly. Otherwise, though, it's a decent indecent story. A romance with sex. It's certainly no fly-by-night affair, since Kuga's very clear throughout that he wants to marry Nano. They're going to wait until he's graduated, but yeah. I think I give it most points for having enough life in its characters for them to be capable of making me laugh.
Is it only good by the standards of porn? Urm, er... no, I think it's better than that. Judged by ordinary non-porn standards, it's still quite a nice little story. The plot creaks a bit in places, but it's likeable and I think it works.
