It's a likeable harem anime about perverts who want to have sex with a kitten. No, I'm not joking. In all other respects, Tama's friends are tough, intelligent and admirable. Together, their firepower can help defeat a Demon Lord's army. (See the season finale.) They're supportive. They could certainly find normal boyfriends and indeed will sometimes be fending off unwanted men.
However, this is anime. Tama is a knight who's been reincarnated as a Behemoth, i.e. a building-sized colossus so dangerous that eliminating one would require an entire army. That form would attract attention, so he pretends to be a kitten. Yes, another anime protagonist who looks like a nobody, but is secretly SUPER-POWERFUL!!!! (Incidentally, this is adapted from a novel series from the write-your-own amateur website, Shousetsuka ni Narou.) Will huge-breasted women be throwing themselves at our protagonist with sexual intentions? Well, obviously. Even though he's a kitten. That's almost mandatory in this genre. Thus Tama will be impossibly popular with some of the toughest, most capable women in the kingdom (and no men). His harem's all-female, obviously. The nearest we get to significant male supporting characters are: (a) a camp-but-butch receptionist at the Adventurers' Guild who calls himself "Anna", has muscles like a bodybuilder and dresses like a BDSM stripper. He's lovely, but he's a massive stereotype. (b) the Great Mage in the last few episodes, who's an isekai hero from Japan and inspires Tama's girls by having a battle harem of his own who love polygamy. (They're all his wives.)
Tama could get human women pregnant, thanks to a magic skill he gains from killing and eating monsters. Don't think about this. Please. For everyone's sanity. It's bad enough seeing Aria getting hot and bothered because she fancies a cute widdle kitten. Our heroines are:
1. ARIA, a blonde elf with an enormous pair of kitten transportation cushions. Yes, that's what she uses them for. She carries Tama in her cleavage (with room down there for additional kittens). She's a thoroughly nice girl, though, and I wished her the best in all her endeavours. (She gets some token backstory to explain why she doesn't like men and loves cats, but, er... no, guys, come off it. You're on a loser there. Some things can't be sold to an audience and kitten bestiality is among them.)
2. VULCAN, a blonde tiger-woman with a speech defect that in Japanese is merely tedious and hackneyed (a "nyaaa" gobi) but in the English subtitles I saw had become a toxic sludge of cat-related wordplay that could sometimes obscure meaning. Examples include:
"That's a suicidal move which sacrifices the user's life to make their attack un-nyaa-voidable!"
"That's paw-inspiring! All in one hit!"
"You can be paws-itively sure!"
"Thanks for the purr-tection!"
No no no no, sod off and die. But I'm only saying that to the subtitle translators, because Vulcan herself is another nice girl you'd entrust your life to. (She's not one of the front-line combatants, though.) Also, she wears loose denim dungarees with nothing underneath. I'd wear that too if I were beating steel in a furnace. Less so if I were female and going out in public.
3. STELLA, who's really a dragon. When did anime decide that all dragons transform into buxom women? Anyway, Stella can communicate telepathically and knows that Tama's a Behemoth, so her sexual intentions actually make sense. Dragon plus Behemoth? Yeah, fair enough. They'd have a similar size and strength in their real bodies. Also, despite being a raucous dumb thug, she gets character growth and a cool surprise in episode 10. She's given the party role of "tank", which fits her strength and indestructibility but is puzzling if you start wondering how this fantasy world acquired the concept of armoured fighting vehicles. (Isekai language bleed, perhaps?)
4. Unfortunately, there's FERI, a dryad who looks like a child. We don't know her real age, but it's still problematic to see her in a fanservice show with communal bath scenes. (Once an episode, regular as clockwork. The nearest the show gets to varying that formula is in episode 10, with a villainess in the bath instead. Surely she knew the heroes were attacking? Was she hoping male knights might charge in and be distracted?)
I enjoyed this series. Yes, it's a tits-and-arse show with an unspeakably depraved premise, but it's quite nice. Our heroes are supportive, friendly and affectionate. (Too affectionate. Aria's even aroused when Tama summons monster tentacles for battle. "Come, use those adorable brown tiger tentacles to ravish me!") They'll stand in the firing line for each other. It can be funny. Sometimes, it has meaningful baddies. Also, a kitten protagonist means that the sexy scenes can't go anywhere (sorry, Aria!), making this a harem anime with a plausible reason for the hero to be chaste and sexless. This one's ridiculous, obviously, but in a good way.
