Riko Ikazuchi and Keiji Noma are undercover agents, posing as newlyweds in order to conduct surveillance of a criminal organisation. The targets are getting suspicious, though. They're living in the next door apartment and the walls are thin, but they've never heard any of the night-time noises you'd expect. Shouldn't newlyweds be more lovey-dovey? Riko's got a dynamite figure! How's Keiji managing to keep his hands off her?

Clearly an emergency situation! The agents duly engage in activities that will set the targets' minds at ease.

The episode's okay. At one point, I even laughed. "Even acting, to be able to cry out like that!" says Keiji afterwards, meaning it as a compliment.

"Obviously!" says Riko dismissively, as if it was all in a day's work.

"I feel sorry for your boyfriend, though..."

Urgh. It's one of those hentai with the message of "it's okay to commit rape if the girl's rude". Aragaki Miharu is indeed fairly unpleasant, starting the episode by rejecting a boy's love confession and then getting sniffy about him having the temerity to bother her with something like that at the start of the day. She's also foul-mouthed. When she's being raped, she doesn't react with distress but instead keeps up a constant flow of threats, sneering and abuse.

But she's still being raped. The most disturbing thing about all this might be the implication that the episode thinks this is okay because of her attitude (and because of some sexually provocative behaviour in the past, putting a boy's hand on her boob).

"I-I'm gonna kill you! You're not gonna make me do whatever you say!"

"That act doesn't suit you. It's common sense that black-hearted high school girls should end up getting raped."

The show's anti-hero is a rapist whose colleagues hate him because he rapes them in the office. His boss gives him a job (why?) to teach the daughters of an old friend of hers (why?). Three guesses what he does to the daughters.

The daughters hate tutors and until now have got all their tutors fired. Unfortunately, this time they fail.

No no no no no. It's doing that ugly hentai thing in which the producers want to do rape scenes, but they don't want realistic distress and trauma, so instead they have the victim hurling abuse non-stop and not actually seeming that upset. (This show takes that further by having the victims unwillingly taking pleasure from being raped.) Yeah, this series does that. Eurgh.

It's terribly nice. No jealousy or competitiveness at all. Our hero (Kazu) is an ethnographer who's gone to explore the valley of the Horny Elves. They have trouble reproducing (which makes sense for such a long-lived species), so they tend to solicit help from anyone they find.

Kazu finds a family of three elf ladies: Mana, Tieru and Mahnaria. The first one he meets, Mana, is oddly innocent and doesn't seem to know anything about sexual matters, although she's a happy and enthusiastic learner. After that, her sister Tieru is protective and doesn't want to get in the happy couple's way, keeping her hands off Kazu until Mana gives her a push. She even tells Kazu to "take responsibility" for Mana, which normally means "marry her" but for Horny Elves apparently means "Keep it up until you get her pregnant!"

Then there's mum, i.e. Mahnaria. She's nice too. You couldn't ask for a more positive, mutually encouraging trio of wives. (Yes, unsurprisingly that's the final status quo.)

It's an anthology of quirky school stories and more likeable than you'd think. (As is suggested by the word "sweet" in the title.)

Here's its pseudo-scientific justification:

"Mice rely on each other's scent to assess their differences. An individual's scent is determined not just by diet and health but by genetics as well. This particular set of immune-related genes is the major histocompatibility complex of MHC. Experiments have determined that these MHC genes also influence an individual's mating desirability. Individuals with a distinct MHC set of genes, or partners they can expect to give them offspring with a stronger immune system, will produce an attractive body scent."

Apparently this is also true for humans. Anyway, our hero is a fat loser who has all the girls in his class blushing and crowding around him. This is amusing because he never thinks about taking advantage of his impossible luck and will instead start running away. (Then a female teacher appears.)

"I'm the one who got done. I shouldn't be alone with a girl, because I can't fend off their advances. I can't stay in an enclosed space either. My odour will fill it up. I have to get through this, one way or another!"

Another loopy premise:

"The number of young people with no sexual experience has risen above 50% in recent years. Given the declining birthrate and aging population, it's become a societal issue. If nothing is done, the population will fall below 100 million within 50 years. Immediate countermeasures are needed. Reforms in conventional sex education have been made in several schools. Practical lessons have been added to the curriculum with the aim of getting the students used to sex."

The episode starts with an entire class masturbating in the gym as their well-meaning, idealistic teacher tells them what to do. "All right. Make sure to loosen up, especially the girls. You'll get hurt if you don't get wet enough. Are all boys wearing condoms? Get more here if you run out. Pair up with anyone you want for our hands-on activity."

Our heroine, Takamine, has no interest in all this. She's certainly not pure or innocently horrified. She's just fond of telling the rest of the world to piss off.

"Even if this is for class, come off it. Know your place. Have you ever seen a mirror? You looked so thirsty when approaching that you're just lame. For a girl of my calibre, you'd have to be at least as good as Yokoyama-kun or Yanagihara-kun to have any chance." Result: everyone else pairs up and she gets left out. Someone did approach her, but she said "no".

Result: she's left out while everyone else pairs up. Naturally, she ends up with the fattest, least attractive partner no one else wanted.

"It has to be him, of all people!? At least look me in the eyes when you talk, scumbag! Stop gawking at me! Let's get this over with quickly, Mutahara. By the way, let me tell you this. I'll kill you if you put it inside me. Same with touching me."

In other words, she wants him to wank into a condom and pretend that they'd had sex. The teacher notices and Takamine keeps up the bullshit, but the teacher's having none of it. Hentai stuff happens (and Takamine's response is indignation), but... "After that, Sensei got suspended for the rough treatment I went through."

"Using the student council office as a makeshift love hotel... Soliciting sex with girls for a school recommendation... 'Backroom deals' under the guise of student counselling... Heaven wants those self-serving brutes in power to be punished! The faculty watchdog, Kasahara Chio, is here at your service! May you tremble in your sleep, public menaces!"

The teachers she'd unmasked set her up for a hentai revenge situation, but ultimately the last laugh's on them. (That final twist is what stops this from being the usual one-dimensional hentai nastiness.)
