- One-line summary: Chinese isekai fantasy
Season 1 only had half-length episodes, but they've changed that. Fair enough. The show's also gained a romantic emphasis, unsurprisingly since the title translates as "The Demonic King Who Chases His Wife". Our heroine kisses Androgynous Wizard a lot, although be warned that my copy of the episode only had Chinese subtitles and so it might have two tall, beautiful people with extremely long blue hair.
Most of the episode looks like perfectly normal fantasy. Mr Androgynous is being held by chains, a magic barrier and five people's golden energy beams. We also, though, get a brief flashback to our heroine's childhood when she was living in the real world. She gets given a cute puppy, a knife and some distressing orders. She was raised as an assassin. Yup. Later in the episode, there's a scene where we're wondering if she'll slit another girl's throat.
Looks fine. At least it's not yet more CGI.
